Jury convicts Holmen man in Monroe Co. drug case

A Monroe County jury convicted a man from Holmen on Monday for conspiracy to deliver/distribute more than 50 grams of heroin.

Christopher Heintz, 30, who is formerly of Sparta, was accused of delivering heroin in and around Monroe County.

The jury deliberated for about three hours after five days of trial in Monroe County before giving their verdict in the case. Monroe County District Attorney Daniel Cary said Heintz faces a potential maximum 52-year sentence and $100,000 fine.

“Christopher Heintz was exposed for the drug dealer that he is, and is being held accountable for the harm he has caused the community,” Cary said in a statement.

Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Mark Goodman revoked Heintz’s bond and he’s in custody until his sentencing, which has yet to be scheduled.
