Kelvin L NiemeyerKelvin was born May 8, 1950, to Kenneth and Betty (Burns) Niemeyer in Lanesboro, MN. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wykoff, MN. Kelvin was the oldest of six children and graduated from Wykoff Public School in 1968. He began working at Tuohy Furniture in Chatfield right after graduation and that led to a life-long career with Tuohy’s, where he remained for 51 years. He was married to Debbie Gehrking in 1972. Many family events were spent swapping stories and laughing over the mishaps. He especially enjoyed bird hunting with his two surviving dogs, Gust and Shadow. He was a founding member of the Deer Creek Long Spurs chapter of the NWTF in Spring Valley and served as president for many years, remaining an active member until his illness.

Kelvin was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran church in Spring Valley, MN. He was a man of deep faith and served in numerous ways. He served on several commissions, ushered, co-taught Sunday school with Linda and sang in the church choir. He often shared his love for the Lord with his grandchildren and family members and encouraged them to have a relationship with God. Kelvin was honored to serve as a confirmation mentor for his grandson, Blaine, last year.
