Kids fly free during Young Eagles Day

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- The Experimental Aircraft Association La Crosse Chapter 307 was at the La Crosse Airport for Young Eagles Day.

Young Eagles Day gives kids free airplane rides to let them experience flying and get kids interested in avation.

The EAA has been giving kids free airplane rides for more than 20 years.

An estimated 25 kids were flying today, and 20 of them were doing it for the first time.

“Made up of aviation enthusiasts, so we have pilots we have pilot dreamers and we have parents of pilots,” said event coordinator, Nancy Boehm.

The La Crosse Chapter of the EAA has given 4000 flights to kids in the area.
