Kids “Get Their Mud On” at Children’s Museum

LA CROSSE, Wis. — Kids were encouraged to “Get Their Mud On” on Saturday at the Children’s Museum.

Families could put their artistic skills to work by painting with colored mud.

The kids could also create caterpillars out of egg cartons to take home and put in their gardens.

The activities promote the “Big Muddy Run” fundraising event coming up in October.

It’s one of the largest fundraisers for the museum.

Organizers said Saturday’s opportunity to play in the mud is a great way to remind people about the fundraiser while makes kids and their parents happy.

“It’s fun for families to get messy and let parents get messy here and not at their houses. We’ll probably do this more often so that we’re providing different things for families here in the community,” said the museum’s project director Christina Knudson.
