Kids help plant tree during Arbor Day celebration at Myrick Park
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Friday is Arbor Day, and La Crosse is taking part in the holiday’s efforts.
The city’s parks and recreation department helped put on the 33rd annual Arbor Day celebration at Myrick Park.
Mayor Mitch Reynolds read a proclamation about Arbor Day and its significance.
Kids also helped plant a tree.
“By planting trees, we’re providing and helping out with clean air, providing habitat for wildlife, and just overall making the community a lot better,” parks and forestry coordinator Tracy Rudi said.
Rudi says the tree was donated by the Hill and Valley Garden club.
