King Apple parade marches through downtown La Crescent
Parade part of a weekend of Applefestivities
LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) — The streets of La Crescent were filled with floats and bands Sunday.
The King Apple parade rolled through downtown as part of a weekend of Applefest activities in La Crescent.
The parade featured favorites like high school bands and candy for the kids. All told, there were 140 floats in this year’s parade, including our own News 8 crew.
Organizers say turnout for the parade and for Applefest have been great all weekend. “Every year it seems to grow more and more, everybody’s learning about La Crescent and what a wonderful community we have, and they like to come down and celebrate with us,” said Applefest President Mary Lehrman.
Applefest continued in the afternoon with the Apple Annies, and wrapped up just a few minutes ago with the Town and Country Band.
