Know your HVAC system

Your HVAC system is very important to your home. Learn more about the components of the HVAC system.

Thermostat: This is typically the part of the HVAC system you are most familiar with. These can be manual or programmable, and they allow you to set the desired temperature you’d like your home to be.

Furnace: The furnace provides heat to your home. This is a very large component and often requires a lot of space.

Heat exchange: This is found inside the furnace, and it switches on when the furnace is activated by the thermostat. It pulls in cool air, heats it, and sends it out into the home through the vents.

Evaporator coil: This helps produce cool air to help cool your home down during warm weather.

Ductwork: The ducts help carry warm and cool air to your home. They are typically made of aluminum.

Vents: Vents help transfer the warm or cool air from the ducts and into your home.
