Brewers slugger suspended for violating MLB drug policy

LA CROSSE, WI — Kwik Trip is parting ways with suspended Milwaukee Brewers Outfielder Ryan Braun.

Braun was suspended on Monday for violating the MLB’s drug policy.

John McHugh, Kwik Trip’s director of corporate communications says the company has a core value of honesty and integrity that applies to everyone it does business with, and Braun violated that.

“It’s amazing how many customers did call this morning or email saying are you going to continue that relationship,” says McHugh, “I think from our perspective what we’ve heard is that the consumer really wants honesty and integrity and when that gets violated, they certainly let us know.”

Kwik Trip is canceling commercial spots with Braun, and an in-store promotion where customers could win lunch with the slugger.
