La Crescent’s Crucifixion Church holding roast beef dinner

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) — If you’re dreading making supper, imagine making food for hundreds of people.

Volunteers in La Crescent are busy preparing for Crucifixion Church’s 43rd annual roast beef dinner Saturday.

Crews were busy Friday morning prepping meat, peeling carrots and making apple pie.

As many as 1,500 people are expected to attend the drive-thru-only event, which begins at 3:30 p.m..

People of all ages are making sure the event comes together.

“I see a number of fourth-graders right now and on up, but before the end of the day we’re going to have some second graders here too,” said the Rev. John Evans, Crucifixion’s pastor.

A limited number of tickets are still available.

Proceeds will support Crucifixion Catholic School.
