La Crosse Area Bicycle Festival begins Friday
Annual fest a way for bikers to explore everything La Crosse offers
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Area bicyclists will be out and about pedaling around La Crosse this Labor Day weekend.
The 4th annual La Crosse Area Bicycle Festival kicks off Friday in Cameron Park. It’s a chance for bikers of all ages to celebrate their mode of two wheel transportation.
The festival offers hundreds of miles of bike tours around the Driftless Region. The holiday weekend also includes a music festival on Pearl Street in downtown La Crosse. To keep up with the bicycle theme musical acts will be performing on a stage powered by stationary bikes.
Organizers say the weekend is a great way for bikers to explore everything La Crosse has to offer.
“La Crosse is one of the greatest areas in the country for road biking. It’s absolutely gorgeous. You know all the Coulees and the Driftless Region is something not like throughout the rest of the United States,” said La Crosse Area Visitors Bureau Director of Sports Sales Jeremiah Burish.
Last year more than 400 riders from 10 different states took part in the free event.
