La Crosse Area Dive and Rescue Unit training to stay efficient
Dive and Rescue members practice searching shallow waters
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Area Dive and Rescue Unit held a training session at Pettibone Beach Saturday.
Banana boats were used to survey shallow waters as members of the unit searched for planted submersed weapons. The training is part of their goal to get out at least four times a month.
“We’re always getting new members and just refreshing the techniques with the more experienced members and we come up with new ideas, new plans and sometimes we discover things that work a little bit better than we used to do” said training officer Kevin Kappauf.
Around a dozen current La Crosse Area Dive and Rescue members attended the training session.
