La Crosse Area Harley-Davidson hosts 15th annual chili cook-off
Proceeds go to helping military families
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – An area chili cook-off is raising funds for military families.
The La Crosse Area Harley-Davidson held its 15th annual chili cook-off.
Proceeds go to Operation Homefront, a non-profit organization that helps military families.
There are 16 different types of chili for people to try, and then vote for their favorite kind.
One organizer says the event is a generous way to bring recognition to those serving our country.
“It also raises awareness to the community that we have many military service members not only living in this community, but around the country,” Operation Homefront advisory board member Patti Lokken said. “And so many of them serving and deploying overseas still to defend freedoms. And so, I think it’s really important for people to be aware of that.”
Lokken says Operation Homefront raises between $1,500 to $2,500 to help military families.
