La Crosse artist raising money to support Hatched Baby statue repairs
The art piece was installed outside of City Hall in 2018
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A familiar face in La Crosse is getting some special help after being defaced.
Local artist Mike Calarco is selling “Hatched Baby” coasters, with proceeds to go to restore the much-talked-about sculpture.
The art piece was installed outside of La Crosse’s City Hall in 2018.
“I enjoyed the piece. I thought that it was very interesting. It really gets people to talk,” Calarco said.
If the German artist who created the baby decides the statute no longer belongs in La Crosse, proceeds will be donated to another public art project in the city.
The coasters can be purchased here.
