La Crosse Children’s Museum to wrap up Shark Week with a ‘doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo’
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Children’s Museum will cap its observance of Shark Week Friday in very popular musical fashion — “doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo.”
The museum promises on its Facebook page, “Our #SharkWeek fun continues with rousing performances of the Baby Shark song led by Aptiv’s Miss RemarkAble 2018, Lois Schultz …”
Schultz’s performances, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., will be included with museum admission, according to the post.
When Aptiv announced Schultz as the 2018 Miss RemarkAble, it stated, “She won this title because she puts a smile on your face, is sociable, inspirational, determined, and delightful.”
Aptiv, formerly known as Riverfront, created the Miss RemarkAble pageant in 2015 in an effort to empower women and girls with disabilities in the La Crosse area. The pageant has expanded to Janesville, Wis., and grown in popularity in the La Crosse area, according to the website of the Women’s Fund of La Crosse, which has awarded grants to the pageant.
The pageant emphasizes ability rather than disability.
“It’s a platform for recognizing the unique abilities and personalities of each contestant,” according to the Women’s Fund.
As for “Baby Shark,” most folks with children know the PinkFong tune as YouTube’s most viewed animal song among the site’s tunes for children. As of Wednesday night, the song had accumulated 8,963,028,021 views (that’s almost 9 billion) — and many viewers can’t get the tune out of their heads.
