La Crosse city leaders want more money for capital improvements
LA CROSSE, Wis. — La Crosse city leaders gathered to ask for money for next year’s capital projects.
The city has about seven million dollars budgeted for the large projects which is well short of the nearly 17 million dollars needed for all of the requested upgrades.

The meeting was just the beginning of the process. “Through the upcoming days and the upcoming weeks, staff will meet, we will hear from the public and ultimately we will get together and decide together on capital projects for the year 2013,” said Mayor Matt Harter.
A public hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday. Ultimately, the city council gives the green light on the projects.
