La Crosse Co. Sheriff endorses Brian Barton for judge

Barton has more than 13 years of courtroom and trial experience

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse County Sheriff Steve Helgeson announced Thursday he is endorsing defense attorney Brian Barton for the open circuit court judge seat.

Barton has more than 13 years of courtroom and trial experience.

If elected to the bench, Barton says he hopes to find a way to keep violent offenders off the streets.

“I think you have to send a strong message with regard to how you do sentences and how you treat bond violation and be firm so people understand if people violate the law and violate bond, there are going to be some serious consequences,” said Barton.

If you live in La Crosse County, you can vote for a new circuit court judge next Tuesday in the primary election.
