La Crosse Community Foundation provides $1,500 grant to young performers
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Hundreds of young adults compete every year to be part of “Kids from Wisconsin,” an arts organization filled with 36 of the state’s best young performers. This year, the group selected three young adults from the La Crosse area to be part of it.
The opportunity comes after the La Crosse Community Foundation provided $1,500 in grant money to allow for local tryouts.
“Our board was particularly interested in fulfilling this grant request because there’s lots of research that shows kids who have opportunities in the arts thrive and have greater achievement in other areas of their life,” said Jamie Schloegel, executive director of the La Crosse Community Foundation.
On July 11, Kids from Wisconsin will perform at Riverside Park in La Crosse.
