La Crosse community holds cupcake fundraiser for injured 4-year-old boy

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — A La Crosse parish and community is holding a literally sweet fundraiser for one of their own.

Mary, Mother of the Church held a cupcake fundraiser at its Weston St. location to raise money for 4-year-old Parker Saxton. Saxton was5e8b59b42ce86c7a0143154604b1791972fd902e5a9d878e6e466e606e6efa55 injured in a tractor accident back in July. He sustained injuries which required him to be airlifted to Gundersen and later to Madison for a long-term stay.

Saxton is back home these days and recovering from those severe injuries. He and his family attended Tuesday’s pop-up fundraiser.

To help Saxton’s family pay for hospital costs, Cupcake Artistry made several cupcake flavors to be sold, featuring blue velvet cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie dough, dirt cake and blue birthday cake confetti, all to honor Saxton’s favorite color, blue.

A pack of four cupcakes cost $10. Six cupcakes went for $15, and a dozen cost $25. All of the cash received from the cupcake sales went to the Saxton family.

960 cupcakes were ordered in advance, and Cupcake Artistry brought 672 cupcakes to the church.

Every cupcake sold within 20 minutes.

People can partake by arriving at the church before 6 p.m., but if you can’t and still want to help Parker’s family… you can Venmo the username “cupcakeartistrylacrosse” and just put “Parker” in the note line.
