High community COVID spread rears its head in La Crosse County again

LA CROSSE (WKBT) – After a brief stint at lower levels, La Crosse is back at a high level of COVID-19 transmission.

According to the CDC, community levels of COVID-19 spread are high. Recommendations are to wear masks in public indoor spaces, stay up to date with vaccines and boosters and get tested if you have symptoms.

Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in the area.

Monroe, Vernon, Trempealeau and Jackson Counties are all currently at medium level.
