La Crosse County board looks ahead to 2019 budget
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A recommended new budget would decrease the tax rate for residents in La Crosse County.
The new budget would have a seven cent decrease for every $1,000 of property value.
It is a slight decrease due to the increase in value of new construction in the county.
“A lot of moving parts in a 156 million dollar budget. We’re down total expenditures by about 3 and a half percent, but again the tax levy is changing very small, most people should see very little change on their county portion of the tax bill,” said Steve O’Malley, La Crosse County Administrator.
The budget will be voted on at the November county board meeting.
