La Crosse County finishes presidential recount

Clinton saw no change, Trump lost 11 votes

Wisconsin’s presidential recount is still underway, but La Crosse County has completed their task.

President-Elect Donald Trump lost eleven votes within the county while Democrat Hillary Clinton saw no change. Independent Gary Johnson’s total also did not change and the Green Party’s Jill Stein lost one vote.

In a statement released Tuesday, the La Crosse County Clerk’s office says most changes were due to improperly marked ballots that may not have been read properly by the ballot machine. Other reasons included circling a candidates’ name instead of filling in the oval on the ballot.

The state’s recount was requested and paid for by the Stein and De La Fuente campaigns.
