La Crosse County officials finalizing details for COVID-19 testing location

Site is expected to be for people with COVID-19 symptoms

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – La Crosse County officials are waiting for final approval for a COVID-19 testing site in the county.

An application was submitted yesterday to bring Wisconsin National Guard members to run a testing site.

That would be similar to sites that have been held throughout the state, including in Buffalo County.

While the request has been filed, the final details are still being worked out.

“It will be a site, we hope will be later next week. We don’t have the date finalized yet until we get the approval from the National Guard, but we anticipate it being later next week,” said La Crosse County Health Department director Jen Rombalski.

It is expected that the site will be specifically for people with symptoms of COVID-19.
