La Crosse County reports 9th COVID-19 death

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse County Health Department reported Friday that a ninth La Crosse County resident has died of COVID-19.

The county reported the death on its Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative website. No other information on the deceased was available.

La Crosse County had 45 new positive tests for COVID-19 Friday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The increase brings the total to 3,486 in the county. There were 522 negative tests reported.

DHS’s new cases include:

  • Two people under the age of 9;
  • Three people aged 10-19;
  • Twelve people in their 20s;
  • Two people in their 30s;
  • Five people in their 40s;
  • Eight people in their 50s;
  • Seven people in their 60s;
  • Three people in their 70s; and,
  • Three people in their 80s.

There were 16 new deaths reported in Wisconsin as a whole, bringing the total to 1,440.

There were 2,988 additional lab-confirmed cases in Wisconsin, bringing the total to 144,818.
