La Crosse distribution facility to close
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A La Crosse distribution plant will soon be closing its doors leaving nearly 70 people out of work.
A total of 67 people will be let go beginning at the end of March and will be offered severance benefits.
The closure was first announced nearly two years ago.
The notice comes as McKesson is agreeing to pay $150 million as part of a settlement for failing to report suspicious orders of pharmaceutical drugs at multiple shipping facilities, including La Crosse.
A DEA investigation in 2013 found the La Crosse facility failed to report any suspicious orders between 2008 and 2013.
