La Crosse downtown Holiday Open House

More than 70 downtown locations will stay open a little later for shoppers

As the weather gets colder businesses in downtown La Crosse are getting ready for the holiday shopping season.

The annual Holiday Open House kicks off Friday afternoon. More than 70 downtown locations will stay open a little later for shoppers to start checking off their Christmas list.

The event doesn’t just benefit the shopper; for businesses it’s a chance to show off their merchandise before the holiday rush.

“You’ll see the new downtown holiday trends; there will be window shopping opportunities. there will be holiday caroling, and in the actual stores you’ll get to see the new products that are out on display kind of the first opportunity to buy the newest things,” said Downtown Mainstreet Director Robin Moses.

The holiday open house runs until about 8 p.m. Friday night.
