La Crosse Fire Department investigating two early morning fires

The La Crosse Fire Department is investigating two fires in close proximity of one another.

Shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday morning, the Fire Department responded to a fire in the back side of a house on the 500 block of Ferry Street.

Five adults and two children escaped the fire without any injuries and the fire was quickly put out.

Around 4:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a garage fire two blocks away from the initial fire, on the 800 block of South 6th Street. That fire was also extinguished quickly.

Both fires are still under investigation. It is still unknown if the fires were related.
