La Crosse Fire Department responds to two early-morning fires
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Fire Department said it is investigating one of two early Saturday fires that broke out in the same block.
Around 3:30 a.m., the Fire Department sent crews to the two fires on the 600 th block of 5 th Avenue.
The first fire in the basement of a residence at 609 5 th Avenue was quickly extinguished; however, minutes later another fire broke out in the basement 617 5 th Avenue.
Crews quickly responded to the fire and were able to extinguish it.
No one was injured in either fire.
Investigators were able to determine a faulty light fixture caused the second fire at 617 5 th Avenue, but the first fire at 609 5 th Avenue is being investigated for suspicious activity.
The La Crosse Fire Department said the two fires are not related.
