‘La Crosse Gives Back’ blood drive strives to meet need for donations

Two-day drive takes place at Radisson Center in downtown La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Community members are proving that helping others is in their blood.

The “La Crosse Gives Back” blood drive kicked off Tuesday at the Radisson Center south of the La Crosse Center.

The drive is in memory of Anthony Fimple, who was killed last year while working in downtown La Crosse.

Fimple’s dad, Gus, says the drive carries on something that was important to Anthony.

“That’s something that Anthony was passionate about and he did a lot before he died was giving blood. And it’s just a good way to give a part of yourself back to the community,” Gus said.

The drive continues at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
