La Crosse group brings help to homeless people in the park

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A volunteer effort is making sure that everyone in our area has the help they need.

“Hearts in the Park” took place Monday at the La Crosse Housing Day Resource Center.

At the event, homeless people from our area can get food, resources, medical supplies and hygiene bags ahead of winter.

“Last year, we served roughly just over 100 people that were either low socio-economic or facing homelessness. This year, we anticipate to see a similar number,” said Hearts in the Park founder Katie Cramer.

Donations are being accepted at the La Crosse Housing Day Resource Center at 212 11th St. S. in La Crosse to support future distributions.
