La Crosse Irishfest comes to a close
Fest sees largest crowds yet and continues to grow
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A family friendly festival is coming to a close.
The 11th annual La Crosse Irishfest entertained nearly 9,000 visitors this weekend, the most the fest has ever seen, and it continues growing each year.
Irishfest board members don’t get much time off though. They’re meeting soon to talk about ideas and things to change for next year’s festivities.
Organizers say the fest has grown to become a staple of our community’s summer.
“It’s one of the premier activities of the summer now, there’s no question about that. We’ve got 11 years under our belt, we’ve built it gradually, and now it’s just something I think the community looks forward to,” said Irishfest President Pat Stephens.
Festivities end at 7 p.m. Sunday night.
