La Crosse Kiwanis Club celebrates 10 high school seniors for their achievements

Ten seniors from ten local schools are honored today for being all-around good members of the community.

The La Crosse Kiwanis Club awarded its 43rd annual round of scholarships Tuesday morning.

The Kiwanis Club says each student may not be an ‘A’ student, class president, or star athlete, but they have proven themselves achievers in their own way.

“I think it’s important from the students’ standpoint that they are recognized for what they do, even though it might not come out in the numbers they are giving to their community, they are giving their all, and they deserve to be recognized for that,” said La Crosse Kiwanis Club Scholarship Chair Glenda Lee.

The ten students were chosen by their school staff for being involved with their school, church, or community. Each student received a recognition plaque and a $300 scholarship to further their education.
