La Crosse Lighthouse opens adult respite center
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – There’s a new resource in La Crosse for those in need of mental health care.
The La Crosse Lighthouse is a place where people who need support for mental illness or substance abuse can go for help.
It’s a self-referred facility where people can stay for 1-7 days.
Those who work at the facility have real-life experiences that can help others on their path to wellness.
“By offering a non-institutional respite sanctuary, we’re hoping that the people working here who are also people in recovery will have the knowledge and wisdom to help people along the way,” said Director of La Crosse Lighthouse Karen Kuhlmann.
The respite center is located at 158 WI-16.
There’s a group on Facebook with more information about the Lighthouse.
