La Crosse looks at I-90 renovation plans again
City, DOT, North La Crosse Business Group meeting later this week
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The city of La Crosse is asking the Wisconsin DOT to take another look at a plan to renovate Interstate 90.
The plan includes a major reconstruction of exit three in La Crosse.
La Crosse’s board of public works approved an agreement for the DOT to take the lead on buying property around the construction. Two streets which will be affected by the construction are Rose and West George streets.
The board added an amendment to the agreement for the state to use the concepts the city proposed for construction on those roads.
“We are working with the DOT but we’ve got some different conceptual ideas for how Rose Streets and West George could be rebuilt, more consistent with our city transportation vision,” said La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat.
The city, the DOT, and the North La Crosse Business Group will be meeting later this week to discuss some of the proposed changes to the construction.
