La Crosse man accused of hitting brother with tire iron

A 26-year-old La Crosse man is accused of hitting his brother with a tire iron early Sunday morning near 5th and Market Streets.

When police arrived on scene, they found a man sitting at the a corner of an intersection with a large cut on his forehead.

Police contacted Aaron Oliver, who was in a storage unit behind a residence. He admitted to hitting his brother with a tire iron, according to the police report.

Oliver was arrested for simple assault, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, substantial battery-intend bodily harm and second degree reckless endangering safety.

According to the police report, Aaron Oliver and his brother were drinking in downtown La Crosse very early Sunday morning. When they returned to an apartment on 5th avenue, the brother went to the bathroom and was hit in the head and knocked out, the report states. The mother told police that Aaron’s brother may have hit him first with his hand.
