La Crosse man sentenced to 20 years in prison for child porn conviction
MADISON (WKBT) — A La Crosse man will spend 20 years behind bars for a conviction of possessing and transporting child pornography.
Chief U.S. District Judge James Peterson passed down the sentence for 43-year-old Thomas Hook Wednesday. Hook was charged in 2020 following four cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent to law enforcement. On a search warrant, authorities found images of child porn on Hook’s cell phone and laptop, some of which appeared to be taken from Hook’s phone.
Hook pleaded guilty in January of 2022.
This is his second conviction involving sexual exploitation of a minor. In 2000, Hook was convicted of 3rd degree sexual assault and exposing genitals for an assault involving a 13-year-old girl.
Hook will have lifetime probation following his 20 year prison sentence.
