La Crosse middle school students get iPads

La Crosse Middle Schoolers have a new piece of technology in their hands.

This year, each of those students will have their own iPad to use for schoolwork.

The tablets have been set up with more than 200 apps, everything they could need for their core and special classes.

Lincoln’s principal says it’s a tool with a lot of potential, since the kids will have access to everything they use in the classroom where ever they go. “We’re trying to bridge that digital divide for kids and give all students the opportunity to learn with a tool that can meet their needs,” said principal Melissa Murray.

Much of the student’s homework will incorporate the iPad. They’re also expected to charge the device every night.
