La Crosse nonprofit hosts web event to minimize Wisconsin voter confusion
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — A La Crosse nonprofit is trying to minimize voter confusion ahead of the midterms.
The League of Women Voters of the La Crosse Area hosted its free online event Tuesday to review Wisconsin’s voting rules.
Two area clerks walked participants through various aspects of the voting process, both in-person and absentee.
A Wisconsin judge recently ruled clerks cannot fill in missing witness information on absentee ballot envelopes. La Crosse City Clerk Nikki Elsen says this ruling is something area poll workers are prepared for when you submit your ballot.
“Election workers at polling places have been trained to give those envelopes a glance-over to make sure those required elements are there, and if they’re not, then instruct the voter of their options for correcting them.”
The organization recorded this event. It’s available here.
