La Crosse, Onalaska mayors battle for a good cause

The mayors of La Crosse and Onalaska faced off Thursday for a good cause.

La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat and Onalaska Mayor Joe Chilsen were ringing bells for the Salvation Army.

The pair were at Festival Foods locations in their respective cities.

Donations will support the Salvation Army of La Crosse County’s efforts to help homeless and people in need in our community.

Both mayors say the friendly competition has a good result, no matter what.

“People need to come out and support things like this because there is people out there that are hurting,” said Onalaska Mayor Joe Chilsen.

“We know that we’ve got a great need in all of our communities and not one organization can meet all those needs, so we’re trying to partner up and do whatever we can,” added La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat.

Bell ringers will be out the community collecting donations through December 24th.
