La Crosse Police Department holds annual bike auction

Lost or stolen bikes in the city of La Crosse were available to purchase Saturday.

The La Crosse Police Department held its spring bike auction at the bike barn on Isle La Plume.

The bikes are from cases that are older than 90 days.

Officers say this is a good way for the community to see what the department collects throughout the year.

“I think this is a good opportunity for the community to get bikes a little cheaper it’s definitely a good way to see what we all collect throughout the year and see how many bikes are recovered throughout the summer.”

The city hosts a bike auction twice a year and the money goes to different city departments. More than 400 bikes were available at the auction Saturday.
