Officer Teri Roden receives ‘Law Enforcement of the Year Award'
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse Police Officer Teri Roden has received the La Crosse County Domestic Abuse/Sexual Assault Task Force “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” award.
The Task Force presented the award to Officer Roden at its annual banquet Thursday night.
The La Crosse Police Department said, as indicated in the award letter, “through training and experience, Officer Roden has gained extraordinary knowledge on the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault and has built a reputation as a caring, compassionate, victim-centered, and detail-oriented police officer who gets the job done and will go the extra mile to keep victims safe.”
Officer Roden is a 17-year sworn veteran of the La Crosse Police Department, who initially served as a volunteer Police Reserve and Civilian Service Employee before being sworn as an officer. The La Crosse Police Department said Officer Roden has also been a member of the Domestic Abuse Reduction Team (D.A.R.T.) since 2003 and has been a negotiator on the Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) for several years.
