La Crosse police share what they do with community

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — La Crosse Police are sharing what they do on the job with community members.

The department held a session today about the “Fair and Impartial Policing” practices, which focus on the science of bias and implicit biases that can have an impact on perceptions and behavior.

Chief Shawn Kudron says the training improves community policing.

“The more education that our officers on understanding what bias truely means, the better that they can do their jobs,” Kudron said.

The session was supported by a grant from Mayo Clinic Health System’s “Everybody In Fund for Change” Award.
