La Crosse police want to remind drivers to turn headlights on in fog
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — It was quite foggy Monday morning, which can make for some potentially dangerous driving conditions.
The La Crosse Police Department wants to remind you when visibility is impacted like this state law requires you to turn on your headlights.
It’s not only to help you see either. It also helps oncoming traffic notice you earlier. And it’s even more important in low-lying areas where fog often collects.
“It seems like we live in an area that we are very susceptible to seeing the fog. One area of the county could have a very dense fog going on whereas other areas may not. So just really be paying attention to the weather conditions around you,” said La Crosse police Department Sergeant Tom Walsh.
That state law requires you use your headlights during any low-visibility weather, including rain and snow storms as well.
