La Crosse pools, beaches close Sunday

LA CROSSE, WI — Time is running out to enjoy a refreshing dip at La Crosse’s pools and beaches.

The areas will close for the season on Sunday, August 18th.

Steve Briggs, the aquatics director with the city’s Parks and Rec. department says it’s the usual time for the water areas to shut down.

“A lot of the staff are going back to school, the patron load really drops down quite a bit as most people are on vacation at that time,” says Briggs.

Attendance at the pools and beaches was down from last year, but average overall.
