UPDATE: One hospitalized after Grandad Bluff rescue
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — One person is hospitalized after falling 40 feet and injuring himself near Grandad Bluff Friday evening.
The La Crosse Fire Department received a call shortly before 9 p.m, and said in its press release that crews located the hiker below the Grandad Bluff observation area.
Fire crews took the patient from the steep hillside to one of the Bliss Road parking areas. He was then transported to a hospital by Tri-State Ambulance.
Fire crews, including 6 apparatuses and 15 crew members, were on scene for about two hours during the incident.
The La Crosse Fire Department, Police Department and Tri-State Ambulance were all assisting on scene.

The La Crosse Police Department tweeted a photo shortly after 9 p.m. saying a rescue is underway.
