La Crosse residents now have several options to renew their pet’s license
Pet license expiration, Dec. 31
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — With only a few days until pet licenses expire, La Crosse residents now have several options for renewing them.
The city has partnered with PetData, an animal licensing provider that offers easy registration for your pets online.
All City of La Crosse pet licenses expire on December 31st, and must be renewed each year no later than April 1st to avoid a penalty.
City officials say displaying a current license tag on your pet’s collar is one of the most important things you can do as a pet owner.
Deputy Director of Finance for La Crosse County, Bobbi Johnson says “It gives us the option to have animal control officers have the information handy, and also a few shelters around the area, where if a pet is lost they’re able to pull up that rabies information, as long as the tags are securely fastened to the collar, and they’re able to get a hold of the pet owner immediately, rather than having your beloved pets spend a night in the shelter.”
To license your animal online, go to petdata.com, enter your zip code and click “online” under License Now, you can register multiple pets at the same time, and easily upload required documents. All major credit cards are accepted, and a small convenience fee will apply per transaction.
To license by mail, simply mail a copy of your pet’s current rabies certificate and any other applicable documentation, along with your check payable to “City of La Crosse Treasurer” to “City of La Crosse Animal Licensing, C/O PetData, PO Box 141929, Irving, TX 75014”.
You can also license your pets in person at City Hall in La Crosse.
