La Crosse road and lane closures slated for this week

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A lane of Copeland Avenue will be closed this week and a block of 16th Street will be closed for utility work, according to the city of La Crosse.

The northbound, right-hand lane of Copeland Avenue closed Tuesday at Causeway Boulevard while the city water utility repairs a street opening. No intersections will be impacted, but the city urged people to use caution and expect delays.

The partial lane closure will remain in place for the duration of the project. Depending upon weather, the lane is expected to be reopened by Friday.

Xcel Energy has also announced that it will close a block of 16th Street between Jackson and Johnson streets from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday while it replaces a pole.

During this same time, the traffic signal at the intersection of 16th Street and Jackson Street will be dark. Temporary stop signs will be in place.
