La Crosse School Board to talk budget at Monday meeting

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The La Crosse school board meets tomorrow, and next school year’s budget is on the agenda.

Members of the La Crosse Education Association are calling for a 4.7% cost of living wage increase. The district made a counter offer of less than half that– offering teachers a 2% raise.

Last week, the district and union met with mediators to reach an agreement on pay. They left with the 2% offer still intact.

The La Crosse Education Association posted on its social media that its members plan to attend the meeting, asking those who attend to wear red in support of their mission.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the Hogan Administrative Center in La Crosse.

It is open to the public, and board meetings are also live streamed.

The meeting’s agenda can be found on the School District of La Crosse website, as well as a link to stream it.
