La Crosse School District expects opening on school board
Three board members up for re-election in spring, one already deciding not to run
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse school district officials are expecting at least one new member on the district’s school board next spring.
Three members of the board are up for re-election in the upcoming spring elections. While two of those members have shown interest in running again, one has already decided not to run.
The district held a workshop for anyone interested in running for school board Monday night. District Superintendent Randy Nelson says anyone hoping to run next year needs to stop by the administrative office to complete the necessary paperwork and other requirements.
“It does require an individual to ascertain at least 100 signatures in order for those to be documented and in order to get the support in the community to be on the school board,” said Nelson.
Signatures have to be dropped off at the district office by January 3rd. The spring election will be held on April 4th.
