La Crosse School District hosts ‘Innovation Showdown’ competition
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — It was showdown of young minds in the La Crosse School District Wednesday.
The district held its first ever ‘Innovation Showdown’ competition.
The team challenge includes students from Coulee Montessori Adolescent program, La Crosse Design Institute, and SOTA II.
There are different challenges, ranging from storytelling to designing a catapult.
The goal is to encourage collaboration mixed with some healthy competition.
“In an office at a business convention, working in a store, you’re often in real life going to be in a situation where you’ll have to solve a problem with a small group of people and limited time and. All of our challenges today are about that,” said Joshua Wolcott, a teacher at SOTA II.
About 130 students took part in the competition.
