La Crosse sheriff names suspects in triple homicide

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Authorities are looking for two Wisconsin men they suspect shot three other men Friday in the town of Hamilton.

The La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday named Khamthanet Rattanasack, 41, of Wausau and Nya Thao, 33, of Holmen as suspects in the killing Peng Lor, 24, Trevor Maloney, 23, and Nemo Yang, 24, outside of the entrance to the Milestone Materials quarry near Hwy. S and Hwy. M.

The three victims were shot at the scene and evidence suggests at least one handgun was used, according to investigators.

Rattanasack is also known as Kham or Blacky. Thao is known as Kush, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators believe the pair used a 2005 Mercedes-Benz S sedan during the homicide. The vehicle was found abandoned in eastern Brown County, Wis., near Green Bay over the weekend. Felony probation warrants have been issued through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for both men, who each have lengthy criminal records.

Rattanasack

Both Thao and Rattanasack have previous convictions for possession of methamphetamine. Rattanasack’s criminal record dates back to 1996, when he was convicted of possession with intent to deliver psilocin. He has also been convicted of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of an electronic weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and theft.

Thao

Thao was convicted in 2006 of first-degree recklessly endangering safety using a dangerous weapon and second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
